Robert "Eric" Lindsey (41) of Baytown, TX passed away on January 23rd, 2025. He was born August 11th, 1983, in Houston, TX to parents Robert Lindsey and Shelia Snider. Eric spent his early childhood years in San Augustine, TX before relocating to the Pasadena and South Houston area. Upon adulthood Eric moved to Baytown in 2004. He made his living and built a life for his family in Baytown, TX which is where he resided until his life was cut short.
Eric started his career at the early age of eighteen for Sunny Steel Erectors until 2006. With guidance and motivation from his father and "old timers" such as Mr. OP Reynolds he followed in his father footsteps and found his calling as a crane operator. His larger-than-life personality and blunt demeanor made him one of a kind. He never held back his opinion or expressive and funny gestures, jokes or memes. Eric was known to be a character. He earned the nickname "Spoon" from a coworker for gate crashing after a lively night out. The reference was "You look like a spoon" and it just stuck.
Spoon lived a rare and unprecedented life. From gate crashing after being the life of the party the night before, to spending time with his family and friends, to riding his beloved Harley. His time on this earth was unique. He could be abrasive and rowdy, but Eric was also selfless and compassionate. He would give someone the shirt off his back in a heartbeat. He was always willing to go to great lengths for the people around him. Spoon never met a stranger he couldn't antagonize or joke with. Eric developed many names in this lifetime. He was known to his family as "Cousin inappropriate" and "Uncle awesome". To his grandchildren he was known as Papster because grandpa wasn't his style. Eric lived many lives in the short time we had him with many titles. He was a son, a brother, a father, a grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and more. Eric was larger than life and no number of words can describe the amazing person he was.
Eric is survived by his father Robert Lindsey and wife Tammy Lindsey of Bronson, TX, His mother Sheila Snider of Baytown, TX, His sister Kimberly Wallace and husband Corey Wallace and their six children of Baytown, TX, His son Chalan "Tye" Lindsey of Baytown, TX, Daughter Jasmine "Jade" Lyon and her sons Damien and Everett of San Antonio, TX.
Eric is proceeded in death by his grandparents George Lindsey, Mildrid Lindsey, Jay Snider, and Patrica Ann Haney, his uncle's Robert Burch and Donald Lindsey, and his cousin Kristal Pangarakis Page.
We know Eric would be deeply moved by all the support his family has received. The family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers, kind words, and generosity. Eric will forever live on in all our hearts.
