Robert Eugene Liner

Greer, SC – Robert Eugene Liner passed away on February 20, 2026. He was the son of Dicie Woodson Liner and the late Thomas Liner Jr.

Born on April 29, 1959, in Spartanburg, Bobby developed an early passion for music that would become a defining role throughout his life. A true historian of rock 'n' roll, he could recount stories of legendary artists, iconic concerts, and the evolution of the genre with remarkable detail and enthusiasm. Beyond his love of music, Bobby felt most at home outdoors. Whether camping under the stars, sitting on Litchfield Beach, or enjoying the peace of nature, he found joy and renewal in the natural world. He cherished time spent around campfires, sharing stories and laughter with family and friends. He proudly served in the South Carolina National Guard and was truly patriotic. Bobby was also a passionate Gamecock fan, following nearly every game and season with dedication, however, American Legion baseball held a special place in his heart, and he spent many years playing competitive softball. Those who knew Bobby will remember his deep knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for the things he loved. His conversations were rich with stories, his laughter was familiar and comforting, and his loyalty to family and friends never wavered.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Nancy Cuthbertson (Herb), James Liner (Debra), Donny Liner, Michael Liner (Bev), Karen Powell (Scott Hughes), Debra Cooper (Scott),David Liner (Mary Beth), and Sandy Liner; nieces and nephews, Brittany Harvey (Daniel), Jacob Cooper, Haley Powell, Vance Powell (Amy), Meredith Liner, Annie Liner, Miles Liner, Jamie Liner, and Amberly Liner; and his grandniece and nephews, Cooper Harvey, Nora Harvey and Bryson Powell.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Living Waters Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 PM. Rev. Malcolm Lance and Rev. Scott Cooper will officiate.
