Robert Livingston Longyear III passed away On October 23,2024 at the age of 76 at The University of Kansas Health System (Topeka, Ks.) surrounded by family and friends.
Robert was born on November 24,1947 to Mariam Crispell (Mother) and Robert Livingston Jr. (Father) in Mexico City, Mexico.
Robert graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy (Wayne PA). He later moved to Emporia, Ks and attended Emporia State University.
Robert worked throughout N.E. Kansas for various companies. He then became a Distributor for Rexair Rainbow Company and excelled at the corporation. Robert later owned, operated, and retired from Dee and Mee Hobbies where Robert and Sharon (Wife) continued to make many friends and shared their love of planes, trains, RC cars, and many other hobbies.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother-in-law Victor Chavez.
Robert is survived by his wife (Sharon Longyear), they were together for 37 years and they were the best friends and the love of his life. Loving sisters ; Gaye (Peter) Vorkink (Exeter N.H.) Jeanne Chavez (Mexico City, Mexico), his two children; Robert L. Longyear IV (St. Louis Mo) Christina J. Longyear (Shawnee Mission, Ks.) and his one grandchild; Tru E. Longyear (St. Louis Mo) and many nieces and nephews.
Robert had a true passion for flying and planes. He was a sponsor and member of a Kansas Blue Sky Squadron. Robert was also proud to be a 52-year member of the Fraternal Organization of Freemasons, Lodge No.12 (Emporia Ks).
Robert was a man whose spirited nature and generous heart and left a undeniable mark on all those fortunate enough to have knowing him. His smile could light up a room and his kindness knew no boundaries. He had a remarkable gift of forming lasting friendships and making every person he met feel valued and important.
Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to share that they will be having a celebration of Robert's life later in the Spring.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: St Jude Children's Hospital in his memory.

Robert was one of my best friends and stood by and helped me in my hard times. I miss all the days of flying RC planes and us learning to fly and crashing planes together. I will miss him dearly. Till we meet again my friend, love ya.
