Robert D. Loose

Robert D. (Bob) Loose, 85, of Anderson, died November 10, 2022, at his home. He was born December 12, 1936, in Anderson to Marguerite (Leach) and William Robert Loose.
Bob graduated from Anderson High School, the class of 1955, and Indiana College of Mortuary Science, the Class of 1956. He was also a United States Army Veteran during the Berlin Crisis of 1961.
Bob was a Licensed Funeral Director for 66 years and founded the Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, Inc., in 1979, with his wife Linda and family. Throughout his career, he was a member of and served with several Service, Fraternal, and Community organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda (Ambrose) Loose; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura (Loose) and A. Scott Gilliam, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Jane (Moneyhun) Loose; three grandchildren, Kirby L. Gilliam and Steven Erlandson; Mark A. and Abigail Loose and Brady S. Gilliam and Katharine Seal; four great-grandchildren, Josephine G. Loose, Gabriel R. Loose, Dominic A. Loose, and Eliza Jane Erlandson, plus one great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by a sister, Susan "Susie" Freeman, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Also, he is survived by a special grandson, Edward A. and Cali Amalfitano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite (Leach) and William Robert Loose, his in-laws, Helen (Elliott) and Ralph C. Ambrose, DDS; two brothers, William H. Loose and Edward L. Loose, two nephews and one great nephew.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00 at Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory with a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM officiated by Rev. Gary Klinger.
Enrichment will take place next summer at The Gardens at Willowcrest Park, Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson Christian Center, East Central Indiana Food Bank or the donor's favorite charity.
