My sincere condolences to all who loved Robert through the years. We first met in school in the early 1960s, and dated for a couple of years. Although I ended the romantic relationship, he never held a grudge, continuing to visit my parents and keeping up with me. He was a sweet friend for all the years of his life. I spent some time with him in his beloved St. Maarten a few years ago, and we had great fun. He returned (after being hospitalized in Kentucky) to his St. Maarten home, but stopped over for a 3-week visit with me in Anniston on his way home. We laughed every day, and he talked about his heart problems, telling me that he expected it would kill him.
I will miss him.
