Robert J. "Mac" MacDonald

78, of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2025. Born on July 4, 1947, Mac devoted his life to supporting his country as part of the US Coast Guard, US Army and US Air National Guard. He was also a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from Cranston Fire Department as Captain of the rescue.

Mac was a lifetime member of the West Warwick Elks Lodge #1697, a member of the American Legion Post 0043 and an honorary member at Kelly-Gazzerro VFW Post where he had a reserved spot and tv remote.

He is survived by his loving wife Gale MacDonald, his son Shaun MacDonald and his wife Tabitha (Sprague) MacDonald, his daughter Michelle Bliss, his granddaughter Abigayle MacDonald and his grand-fur babies Hardey, Lola, Mia, Callie and Maple. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Matilda (Morrison) MacDonald, his sister Francis Fagan, and his brothers Thomas and John MacDonald.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mac will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday, December 11th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday, December 10th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
