Robert B. MacTaggart

Robert B. MacTaggart, 79, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away at Heritage Specialty Care Center on July 2, 2024. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. His body has been deeded to the Anatomy Department at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family. Bob was born in 1945, in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of John and Kathleen (Altmaier) MacTaggart. He was raised in Iowa City, Iowa and was a graduate of City High in 1964. In August of 1968, he married Vicky Beetner in Burlington, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Vicky MacTaggart; children, Erin Kopplin and Scott MacTaggart; grandchildren, Maxwell Kopplin, Forsythia and Serena MacTaggart and Danni Kopplin; former son-in-law, Dan Kopplin, and former daughter-in-law, LeeAnn Jones. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Philip MacTaggart, and Sylvia Odgers. Bob was a carpenter, tree trimmer and scrapper. He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Willis Dady Shelter in Cedar Rapids or Waypoint of Cedar Rapids.
