Cherry Wiley MacTaggart

Cherry Wiley MacTaggart, 72, a resident of Greenwood and wife of Alan MacTaggart, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at her home.
Born September 16, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Elbert Wiley and LaVada Downs Wiley. Cherry was a 1971 graduate of Thomson High School in Thomson, Georgia. She earned her bachelor's degree from Lander University and her master's degree from Augusta University. Cherry was the owner and operator of Uptown Counseling Professionals. She was a devoted animal lover and a member of Church of the Resurrection, Episcopal.
She is survived by her husband, Alan MacTaggart; two daughters, Brooke Ferguson (Mat Womack) of Greenville and Blaire Ferguson Shenal of Greenwood; a stepson, Ross MacTaggart of Charleston; two sisters, Betty W. Morris and Traci Scott of Mount Pleasant; and three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jonah Shenal, Mikey Shenal, and Ruby Ferguson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Wiley.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
