Mpls - age 85, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at the Masonic Home in Bloomington on Saturday December 6, 2025.

Born March 22, 1940, in Minneapolis, Bob was the son of Robert Kenneth Maeser Sr. and Dorothy (Sorensen) Maeser. He grew up in South Minneapolis, graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School, and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Bob met Marlene Hoistad after she moved from Rutland, North Dakota, in 1958. They married on February 20, 1960, and shared 65+ wonderful years together, raising three children:

Robert Kenneth Maeser III (Michelle), Michael Thomas Maeser (Mary), Carrie Louise Maeser; grandchildren, Jake, Nicole, Danielle, Luke, Alexandra, Jonathon, Zachary; great-granddaughter, Emma.

He is also survived by his brother Thomas Maeser (Mary D.) as well as, many nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Carrie.

Bob spent over 30 years with Control Data (Magnetic Peripherals / Imprimis Technology) before joining Seagate Technology and later Quantum Corp. in California, where he served as President of the disk drive business. He retired at 55, leaving a respected legacy in technology leadership. While raising his children, Bob was a longtime youth coach in Bloomington for hockey, baseball, and softball. He was also a dedicated leader in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, earning the prestigious Order of the Arrow Vigil honor.

In retirement, Bob embraced life fully for more than three decades. He enjoyed golf, traveling, fishing trips to Canada, and time with family and friends. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.

Funeral Service 12:30pm Monday December 15 with visitation beginning at 11:30am at Minnesota Masonic Home Chapel, 11501 Compass Drive, Bloomington, 55437. Following the service a reception will be held in the Evergreen Room, also at the Masonic Home.
