Robert Neal McArthur born APRIL 3, 1953 to Mary Francis Hillis McArthur and William Cleo "Bill" McArthur. He was the youngest of 3 siblings, Jeanie and Bill.
Preceded in death were parents Bill and Mary McArthur, grandparents EB "Bratton" Hillis and Ida Brents Hillis, Arkie McArthur and Dillar Wilson McArthur and son-in-law Jeremy Simpson.
He is survived by his wife Regina, daughter Tammy McArthur Simpson (Clint Tillmon), granddaughter Taylor Butcher Williams (Blake) 2 great grandchildren HUD and Amelia Williams, grandson Tanner Ray, step son Joseph Breazeale (Jamie) and 4 step grandchildren Molly Bess and Asher Breazeale, Abby Jones and Lexi Coleman. Also a brother, Bill McArthur Jr (Darlene) and niece, Crystal McArthur and a sister Jeanie Want (Johnny) along with honorary brothers Jimmy James Langrell, Bobby Locke and many others friends.
Bob graduated high school at Dollarway and attended college at UAPB in Pine Bluff after getting out of the military.
Upon graduation from High School he joined the United States Air Force and worked in the Communications Security Field. When he graduated from basic training he returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Regina Llewellyn McArthur before being shipped over seas to the Philippines. They had a daughter, Tammy, his only child.
After his Air Force Years he returned home to Pine Bluff and went to work for the Pine Bluff Arsenal where he worked his way up to supervisory chemical engineering technician (CBRNE) an analytical and remediation activity (CARA). Then he went to work on Johnston Island for a few years in a supervisory position. After a time he returned to the Pine Bluff Arsenal working in the Systemization Testing & Pre-Operational survey of Pine Bluff Arsenal Ton Container Decontamination Facility as an assistant project manager for the US Army Technical Escort Unit until he retired February 1-2011.He grew restless l retirement and worked for a while for Chancellor and Sons in Louisiana with his friend Bobby Milner until he retired again.
Bob was a catholic and truly believed in the Lord. He believed in helping other people, had the kindest heart, was so thankful for second chances and loved with a passion. Was entirely crazy over his "little man" Asher and was looking forward to teaching him golf.
Golf was his favorite thing to do as well as having fellowship with his golfing buddies. Other things he enjoyed doing was riding his Harley "Betty Lou", helping Regina with her projects in the yard, junking and had recently taken up wood carving.
Bob was a long time Shriner and Mason.
After their lives took separate paths Bob and Regina reunited on October 29, 2022. The second chance they got in life was too brief but its sweetness will never be forgotten. They resided in White Hall and Hot Springs.
Bob was loved by many, especially Regina. Gained respect he truly deserved, was one of a kind and left all who were around him laughing. He will be so remembered and forever missed.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21st at White Hall Community Center from 5-7PM.
