Robert (Stan/Bo) Stanley McCaherty, 69, of White Hall passed away Monday, September 29,2025, in Springfield, IL. He was born February 17, 1956, the son of Mary E. (Pate) Shaw and Garland (Sam) McCaherty. Survivors are special friend, Becky Clinton-Harmon, two daughters, Shannon M. McCaherty and Brandy L. Thompson, both of White Hall; three grandchildren, BreAnna L. McCaherty, Faith S. Sprague and Haley R. Thompson, one brother, Donnie (Rhonda) McCaherty, two nieces, Kayla Craigmiles and Cody Soffray, and one nephew, Terry (Julie) Goheen. He was preceded in death by parents, Mary E (Pate) Shaw and Garland (Sam) McCaherty, one brother, Randy McCaherty, and two sisters, Jackie Goheen and Marsha Sears. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Stan was a member of Life Community Church. He was a steel worker welding for many years. He became a truck driver hauling loads all over the country until he retired. Stan loved life, fishing, driving, traveling, and motorcycles. He was an avid Harley-Davidson fan. He loved people and never met a stranger who didn't become a friend. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. He lived life his way and died his way and will be deeply missed.
