Robert "Cowboy" T. McClure, 68, of Springfield passed away on Monday February 12, 2024.
He was born in Florence, AL on December 27, 1955 and was the son of Jack D. McClure and Verlon C. Teaney.
Robert aka "Cowboy" was very well known in Springfield as a window cleaner and a contractor. He was married to Bobbie Jean (Pigg) McClure and she preceded him in death. Robert was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James D. McClure.
Robert was survived by his siblings, Venita Steele of Riverview, FL, Vicky Goff of Springfield, IL, Mike McClure of Jacksonville, IL, John McClure of Englewood, FL, and Donald McClure of Bloomington, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation services are being accorded.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2024 at Oakridge Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Those wishing to join the family may meet at the grave of Robert McClure at 11:00am or simply meet the funeral home and the family just inside the main gates 15 minutes prior to service and the funeral home will take you to the grave.
Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.

So sorry we did not learn of Cowboys passing till recently. Became friends as he did our windows at Abe´s Old Hat Antiques for many years. My wife fixed him many flowers for his daily trips to Oak Ridge. RIP Bob.

Robert was loving with a very big heart. He would give you the shirt off his back. I could always get him to laugh and have too many memories to share. I miss you but will always keep you close in my heart. I love you brother, both DJ and I do.

Robert was loving and would give you the shirt off his back. Could always get him to laugh. I will miss him and will always keep him close to my heart. Sharing a few pictures... 1st was taken on July 23, 2022, 2nd was taken on Christmas 2011 and 3rd picture was taken during the celebration of life after the passing of mom. You will be greatly missed I love you brother, DJ & I both do.
