Robert "Bob" J. McFeeley, 73, of
Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1952, in
Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Anna Marie (Matro) McFeeley.
Bob grew up in Greensburg, where he spent much of his childhood exploring the neighborhood with his siblings and playing pickup baseball games all summer long. He was actively involved in his local Boy Scout troop and traveled around the country camping with his father. Bob attended Greensburg Catholic High School, graduating in 1970, before continuing his education at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a degree in Political Science.
Throughout his professional life, Bob pursued a variety of paths, all rooted in his passion for working with and helping others. Early in his career, he worked as a funeral director before transitioning into financial services, where he built the career that would occupy most of his professional life.
Outside of work, Bob's greatest joy was supporting his daughter, Kaitlyn. He loved watching her grow and enthusiastically embraced the passions she pursued, soon making them his own. Bob spent countless weekends traveling across Ohio to attend travel softball and volleyball tournaments and proudly served as a line judge at Kate's matches.
Later in life, Bob became deeply involved with Seeds of Literacy, a mission that quickly grew into one of his greatest callings. As the son of a librarian, Bob was passionate about the organization's work and was committed to helping ensure that everyone had access to an education.
Bob had a remarkable ability to walk into any room and make a new friend. An avid sports fan (Go Blue!), he cherished the many conversations he shared about baseball with his son-in-law and longed to see Cleveland win the World Series again. Bob was a man who loved his people and took great joy in celebrating them. His warmth, kindness, and energy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving daughter Kaitlyn Johnson (son-in- law Jordan); beloved grandson James Scott; dear sister Ann McFeeley; and his former spouse and caretaker Diane McFeeley. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard McFeeley, and his parents.
