Robert "Bob" McInerney

Robert "Bob" G. McInerney, 78, a resident of Columbiaville, MI passed away on April 30, 2024. He was born in Detroit, MI on October 24, 1945, to Joseph and Eva McInerney. In 1966 he married Laurelle "Laurie". Together they had three children and lived in numerous places throughout Metro Detroit, finally settling in Lapeer in 1979. He enjoyed Euchre, Bowling, and Bingo, but spending time with his family brought him the most joy. He cherished his grandchildren with all his heart. Bob's love for baseball and the Detroit Tigers led him to coach his grandkid's little league baseball teams.
One of his kid's fondest memories was the three months in which the family spent the whole summer on a boat on Lake St. Clair. Boating and fishing were two things that he loved to do. His wife of 39 years Laurie passed in 2005 and in 2008 he married Janet Heins, and they would spend the next 17 years together. They are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church and together they enjoyed volunteering at the church's soup kitchen. They also took many trips to the casino where Bob liked to play video poker, even once hitting it big by winning a Lincoln Aviator. Bob appreciated the sunshine and nature on God's green Earth.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Janet McInerney; his children Jayla (Kenneth) Cline of Metamora, MI, Christopher (Heather) McInerney of Columbiaville, MI, and Nicholas (Joe) Jamison of Sioux Falls, SD; step-children Kim (Steven) Aguinaga of Riley, MI, Ron (Susan) Heins of Warren, MI, and Rob Heins of Metamora, MI; grandchildren Seth (Heather) Laidler, Jared (Michelle) Laidler, Robert (Emily) McInerney, Brendan (Alayna) McInerney, Jessica (Chad) Tubbs, Seth Aguinaga, Chase Aguinaga, Katelyn (Sam) Spencer, Brooke (Peter) Ventimiglia, Makayla (Dan) Heath, R.J. Heins, Nyles (Nikki) Chambers, Bailey Chambers, Julian Chambers, Dawson Chambers, and Jersey Chambers; as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents, his first wife Laurie; brother Joseph "Bud"; sisters Kathleen, Florence, Jackie, and Agnes; and step-daughter Heather Chambers.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A memorial service will be held on May 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 90 Millville Rd. Lapeer, MI 48446. Pastor Jared Nies will officiate. Friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
