Robert Shawn McLeroy

Robert Shawn McLeroy, born on October 5, 1970, in Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on September 1, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the age of 54.

Shawn was a dedicated employee of the City of Winston-Salem, where he worked as a DOT field operator. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his duties.

Shawn had a passion for life that was evident in his many interests. He was an avid supporter of Georgia Bulldog football and cherished spending time outdoors. Whether relaxing by the pool or cheering on the Greensboro Grasshoppers, Shawn found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Gaynell Burtis; grandparents, Ray and Wynelle McLeroy Sr.; and sister, Lisa Rhea McLeroy.

Shawn is survived by a loving family who will miss him dearly: his father, Danny McLeroy (Jo Marie); mother, Laura "Joy" Croft (Roger); sister, Jennifer Langwell; daughter, Alyssa McLeroy; son, Alexander McLeroy; daughters, Alyson McLeroy and Emrie McLeroy; son, Grayson McLeroy; and granddaughters, Kennedy Rutter and Araceli Hinton. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Services to honor and remember Shawn will be held on Saturday September 6th at 3PM in Greensboro NC. The family appreciates the support and condolences from all who knew and loved him during this difficult time.
