Robert McMahon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pucedo Funeral Home on Jan. 4, 2026.
Robert L. McMahon (Leo), 81, of Endwell, NY passed away peacefully after a short illness and a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Beloved husband of Kathyrn (Lombardo) McMahon, father to Christine (Pat) Miller and Jennifer (Clint) Stewart, grandfather to Zach (Ali), Allison, Lani, and Emmy. Leo was the third oldest of thirteen children. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary McMahon, his brother John (Peggy) and sister, Maureen (Bob) Quinn, mother and father-in-law Anne and Carl Lombardo. He is survived by his remaining siblings, Dennis (the late JoAnn), Suzanne Landwherle (Rob), Christine (Geoff) Mischler, Kathryn (Frank) Forno, Brian (Maureen), Bridget (the late Phillip) McDonald, Rita (Jim) Maddi, Marty (Claudia), Laura (the late Richard) Kuhnen, and Philip (Colleen) McMahon. He is also survived by a large extended family including many nieces, nephews, cousins-especially the McCabe and Burns families. For over 20 years, he owned and operated a DIY pest control business, "The Bug Man".

Leo loved to entertain. It was his passion. He loved to cook and share his huge pots of soup. He enjoyed an eclectic range of music genres and the louder, the better! He was a member of the Order of the Sons of Italy, Endicott Lodge. In recent years, he passed time at Close Quarters with his many friends. Even during his later struggles with Lewy Body Dementia, he still had a sharp wit and would set you straight when you needed it. The family would like to recognize the wonderful care by Dr. Richard Barbano at the University of Rochester Medical Center-Department of Neurology, Rochester, NY, Ashley at Guthrie Hospice, and his home health aide, Michelle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 8, 2026 at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY at 12:30 PM with the Rev. Clarence F. Rumble, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mercy House 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760 or in honor of Dr. Barbano and the Movement Disorders Program, Department of Neurology, Box 673, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642.

Leo strongly believed in the message of the Desiderata and gifted a copy of it to his daughters as teenagers. We will leave you with this excerpt…"With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."
