Robert Edward Meldrum

Robert Edward (Fast Eddie) Meldrum 77 of Jefferson City finally ran out of jokes and passed on to his next life on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born July 5, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Andrew Robert and Doris Leona (Davis) Meldrum who preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Galesburg Senior High School and received his bachelor's degree at Culver-Stockton in Canton, Missouri. He continued his education and went onto receive a Master's in Education from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
Ed was a school teacher, coach and Alumni Director at Culver-Stockton College. He then worked for AM International in sales and in his later years he worked as a car salesman.
He enjoyed golfing and was a long-time member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Ed enjoyed his annual hunting trips with the guys, Janice said Ed enjoyed his hunting trips with the guys so much he often would forget to take his guns with him. He cherished his time barbequing and cooking for family and friends. He was the ultimate grandpa never missing his grandkids sporting events or any other important activities.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Hirschman) Meldrum of Jefferson City; his sons, Rob Meldrum of Canton Missouri, and Ben Meldrum (Jeni) of Wardsville Missouri, his daughter, Heather Herigon (Mitch) of Holts Summit Missouri; his siblings, Mike Meldrum, and Becky Goethe of Galesburg, Illinois and five grandchildren: Hunter Herigon, Zach Herigon, Wyatt Meldrum, Hattie Meldrum and Hudson Meldrum; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Missy and Brad Dulle; his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his favorite in-laws, Bud and Jennie Hirschman and brother-in-laws Rick and Mick.

Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 p.m where everyone will gather to tell their favorite stories of Fast Eddie.
