ROBERT MENNONA, 88, of Howell Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New York City, NY and has resided in Howell Twp. for 62 years.
Robert was employed as a manager for Stop & Shop, Edison, NJ for 20 years prior to his retirement in 2000. Prior to that he was the owner of Mennona's Parkview Tavern, New York City, NY.
He was a communicant of the Church of St. Veronica, Howell Twp. Robert was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus #6201.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, John Baptist and Catherine Mennona; and by his brothers, Vincent Mennona, William Mennona and John Mennona. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kathleen Mennona; his son, Robert A. Mennona Jr and his wife, Sharon of Bayville, NJ; his daughters, Donna Mennona of Whiting, NJ, Julie Murdoch of Jackson Twp., NJ and Kerrie Longo and her husband, Frank of Jackson Twp.; his grandchildren, Shannon Lucasiewicz and her husband, Tom, Robert A. Mennona III and his wife, Ashleigh, Joe Tyrrell and his wife, Sam, Gabby Tyrrell, Katie Nacovsky and her husband, Marc, Erin Murdoch, CJ Murdoch, Jr., Nikki Cavanagh and her husband, David and Christopher Longo; his great grandchildren, Emily Lucasiewicz, Alec Tyrrell, Scarlett Mennona, Ella Tyrrell and Carter Tyrrell; his brother, James White and his wife, Suzanne of Hilton Head SC; and by his sisters, Marie Jagich of Howell Twp. and Laura Yurcisin of Barnegat, NJ.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2-6 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:45 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10 AM at The Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Rt. 9 N, Howell Twp., NJ. Interment will follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Rd., Toms River, NJ.
