Robert H. Meyer

Robert Harold Meyer died peacefully at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mt. Kisco on Tuesday, September 12th at the age of 88. Robert spent the days prior surrounded by his loved ones.
Loving husband of Jaqueline (Jackie) Meyer, the beloved father of Michael Peter (Marian Oliveri), and beloved grandfather of Alexander and Sophia. Robert was predeceased by his parents Helen and Harold Meyer, as well as his loving sister Barbara McAleer.
Robert, who was known to all as "Bob", married Jackie in 1959 and lived in Mount Vernon where they had their son Michael. Bob and Jackie worked diligently at building their own home in Pound Ridge, NY and moved there with their son in 1968.
Bob started his career as an electrician in the Navy in 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. In addition to working on a nuclear submarine, Bob went on to be a union electrical worker and then foreman for many years. In 1970, Bob became a volunteer firefighter in the Pound Ridge Fire Department where he went on to serve as chief for two terms, and fire commissioner for 25 years during his 53 years of service.
As a lover of travel, Bob often talked about his time at sea, from his tour in the Navy to the many cruises he and Jackie took to destinations like Alaska, Panama Canal, and more. Bob also enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing practical jokes on his friends.
Bob will be remembered for his passion for service not only to his family, but to his friends, to the Pound Ridge Fire Department and community. His absence will be felt for years to come by all who knew him.
A loyal Roman Catholic, Bob was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Katonah, NY where he helped serve many funeral masses.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St. Mary's Church, 55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY.
