Robert Anthony Meyer, age 89, of Greenfield, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29th, at Zilber Family Hospice. Bob was born in Milwaukee on June 28, 1935. He attended St. Vincent De Paul grade school and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1953. Bob worked as a salesman for Ryerson Steel for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Sylvia (Warras), brothers Tom (Dolores), Dan (Cindy), and his wife Patricia (Doyle).
Bob was a member of St. Martins of Tours Church, going to mass almost every Saturday and stopping at Cousins for an Italian sub afterwards. He loved to visit family and sit on his front porch and visit neighbors as they walked their dogs. Vegas was his favorite travel destination and he had taken 49 trips over the years. He enjoyed watching or listening to the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badger games. A couple of his favorite television shows were Blue Bloods and Two and a Half Men.
Bob is survived by his two sisters, Mary (Mike) Martis, Sister Martha Meyer, SSND. He has 4 surviving children: Steve (Jeannie) Meyer, Phil (Pam Hoch, significant other) Meyer, Diane (Jeff) Diekfuss, and Rita (Jerry) Meyer-Harbison. He is also survived by two stepchildren: Lynn (Perry) Wysocki and Mark (Bobbi) Banach. Bob was blessed with 9 surviving grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Branko (Megan) Meyer, Jed (Teri) Diekfuss, Jake Diekfuss, Miranda Meyer, and Madison Meyer, step granddaughters Michelle (Jake) Vekich, Jessica (Scott) Rinzel, Olivia (Ethan Cole, fiance) Banach, step grandson Nick (Megan) Banach, great grandson Nolan Meyer, step great granddaughters Thea Vekich, Quinn Vekich, Reagan Rinzel, and step great grandsons Weston Rinzel and Oliver Banach. Bob also enjoyed his beloved nieces and nephews.
Bob lived a full life. We will miss him answering his phone with a booming "Hey, how ya doing?" Doughnut Tuesday will not be the same. He made friends in all the places he lived, such as Milwaukee, Greenfield, Madison, and Redgranite. Bob will be loved, missed, and always remembered.
