Rev. Robert “Bob” H. Miller, age 93, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Green Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Bob was born in Coffee County, Alabama, to Henry and Emmie Miller, and raised on the family farm where he learned the values of faith, hard work, and service that guided him throughout his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. During that time, he met his future wife, Charlotte, a vibrant redhead he often called “a complete joy.” They married in 1956 and shared nearly 50 years together, raising three children and building a life rooted in love and faith.
After graduating from Liberty Bible College, Bob pastored Covenant Fellowship Church in Enterprise for more than 20 years, ministering with humility and heartfelt devotion. After retiring, he moved to Dothan to be closer to his sons and remained active in a local church while continuing to serve and volunteer in the community.
Bob never met a stranger. He was warm, joyful, and grounded in his love for Christ. He had a quick wit, a deep love of the Bible, a passion for nature, and an endless supply of jokes. His steady faith and gentle humor made a lasting impression on all who knew him. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, especially during visits to the family’s farm, where he loved sharing the simple pleasures of country life.
He is survived by his children: Robert Derek Miller (Cindy) of Dothan, Gregory Miller (Kim) of Rehobeth, and Marcia Miller of Hoover; grandchildren: Matthew Miller (Susanne), Ryan Miller, Allen Miller (Alysse), Angela Johnston (Will), Lauren Davis (Scotty), John Miller, Julia Miller, Jonathan Smith, and Jarred Smith (Kaitlyn); and 16 great-grandchildren: Dylan Miller, Seth Miller, Charlotte Miller, Lucas Miller, Brooks Miller, Liam Johnston, Lucy Johnston, Hannah Johnston, Audrey Johnston, Marley Smith, Harper Smith, Sophia Smith, Embree Kate Smith, Blakely Smith, Kaylee Johnson, and Isaac Johnson.
He is also survived by his siblings: Aileen Cain, Merle Jones, Jean Gulley, Jewel Walden, Johnny Miller, and Diane Free; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte Miller; his parents, Henry and Emmie Miller; and his brothers: Royce Miller, Horace Miller, Paul Miller, Curtis Miller, and Arnold Miller.
Bob’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Community Outreach Center, 309 North Lena Street, Dothan, Alabama, 36303, an organization close to Bob’s heart.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
