Robert "Bob" Allan Miller of Macomb Township passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the age of 81.

Bob was born on August 22, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Marvin and Helen (nee Lynn) Miller. He grew up on the Eastside of Detroit, attending both Bethany Lutheran and Detroit Denby High, graduating in 1963. After high school, he proudly served in the US Army in the 60's. After his time in the service, Bob returned to Michigan; married the love of his life Susan Burkheiser on June 6, 1969; and started working for the City Of Detroit Department of Transportation, where he retired after 30 years. After retiring from D.S.R. (now known as D.O.T.), he moved his family to Macomb and found he needed to keep busy so he went back to work at Painters Supply for another 15 years until fully retiring.

He loved all of his hometown Detroit sports teams but the Lions were very dear to his heart. He was a diehard fan and a season ticket holder for 20+ years. He would talk with anyone at any time about Lions football. Bob was also a classic car guy with the '55 Chevy being one of his favorites. He could tell you what year, make and model car just by the look of a car's headlights, tail lights, grill or even the paint. He looked forward to the Detroit Auto Show and Auto Rama every year.

He was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none as he would say. Always fixing or tinkering around with something that needed repair in his basement workshop with his massive collection of Craftsman tools. Everything labeled and organized by type and use. A big fan of 50s, 60s and Motown music which was always playing in his workshop from sunrise to sunset.

He was a man of faith. A longtime member of Resurrection Lutheran church in Detroit, which was also where he married Susan. He was an usher for many years, and he would be the first smiling face you would see that greeted you with a bulletin, a handshake and a good morning at the door to the church. He assisted with whatever needed repair at the church when needed. When they moved out of Detroit, he transferred to Immanuel Lutheran in Macomb and became an usher right away.

He was a family man. Spending time vacationing with family in Florida or heading up north to one of his favorite spots at Hinchman Acres Resort in Mio, MI, were among his favorite trips to make; always making time to stop at the Turkey Roost for a quick bite on the way Up and Frankenmuth for his favorite Stollen Bread and chicken dinner on the way home. He also enjoyed thrill ride trips to Boblo Island and Cedar point with his kids. He loved the holidays with his family, decorating the house inside and outside for Christmas. Being a proud papa to his three grandchildren, he simply loved just spending time together, always joking and laughing. Not to mention, he was one the most punctual people ever, if he was 15 minutes early for something, he was late! He was a big fan of Dr. Pepper and also had a massive sweet tooth.

He will be missed by all of his family and friends and to all that were lucky enough to meet and be around Bob Miller.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue; children, Kevin (Chrissy) Miller and Kelley (John) Kleidon; grandchildren, Cole, Riley and Austin; sister-in-law, Lynn (Rick) Brueggeman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his siblings, John, David and Carole; and his parents.

Visitation for Bob will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. His funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with an instate time of 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Worship Center, 47120 Romeo Plank, Macomb. Entombment will take place immediately following the funeral at Cadillac Memorial Gardens Cemetery East, Clinton Township.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
