Robert Mitchell

Robert William Mitchell, 76, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his home.

He was born on December 2, 1949, in Detroit, MI, to the late Mina "Sue" Anglin Mitchell and Paul Henry Mitchell. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Alcoa. He enjoyed camping, cutting wood, playing bingo, and watching NASCAR. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James David Mitchell.

His survivors include his sons, John (Clearinda) Mitchell and Andrew (Jennifer) Mitchell, both of Nebo, KY; brother, Mickey Mitchell of Slaughters, KY; sisters, Rhonda Dobat of Central City, KY, and Kathy Mitchell of Slaughters; grandchildren, Courtney, Merideth, Saxon, Lana, Ethan, Aalyiah, Mckenzie, Andrea, John Jr., and Mason; and his great-grandsons, Kaden and Jensen.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd., Hopkinsville, KY. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Pennyrile Honor Guard

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are John Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Nicholas Oakley, Carlton Clark, John Mitchell, Jr., and Jesse Ayers.
