Robert Grey Moffett Sr., a beacon of faith, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 88. Born on September 2, 1937, Robert's faith was real, and his struggles were real.
Robert, was a cherished husband, father, and friend. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Florence Moffett, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. His legacy continues through his children, Robert Grey Moffett Jr., Thomas Benjamin Moffett, and Constance Verlin Moffett Hood.
Preceded in death by his brother Leroy Moffett, and his parents, Ida Mae Buckles Moffett and Charles Leroy Moffett. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.
Robert's passion for education was evident to all who knew him. He dedicated his life to teaching and working with Christian schools, inspiring countless students to pursue knowledge.
Robert enjoyed fishing and raising cattle in his younger years, he found solace in the tranquility of nature, and in serving various churches in the music ministry. He had a rich voice and passed on the love of singing hymns to his daughter. Robert's personal relationship with Christ was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in every aspect of his life.
As we bid farewell to Robert Grey Moffett Sr., we celebrate his homegoing to the Lord and a soul that has undoubtedly found its eternal rest.
A memorial service has been scheduled for Thursday October 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM, the service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 3931 White Horse Rd. Greenville, SC 29611
