Robert Mitchell Moody, born on August 3, 1959, in Athens, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his hometown on February 1, 2026. He was a beloved figure, cherished by many for his warm heart and kind spirit.
Robert was a devoted husband to Susie Mae Moody, and a proud father to Jessica Marie Toole and stepson Donald Wayne Tittle. He was a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren and delighted in the company of his one great grandchild. His family meant everything to him, and he often spoke of the joy they brought into his life.
Robert's nurturing nature and unwavering support extended beyond his immediate family. He was predeceased by his father, William Lawrence Moody, and his mother, Glenda Paulette Martin Moody. He also mourned the loss of his son, Steven Moody, as well as two brothers and one sister, who have all surely welcomed him with open arms.
In addition to his family ties, Robert had a great love for classic films, particularly Westerns. He could often be found reminiscing over his favorite movies, sharing laughter and stories with those around him.
A visitation will be held in honor of Robert at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia, on February 5, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, Georgia, following the funeral service.
Robert Mitchell Moody will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, family, and passion for life will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
