Robert Myers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pearson Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2025.
Robert "Bob" Crichton Myers, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. Born on July 28, 1935, in Petersburg, Virginia, Bob lived a life defined by service, dedication, and joy.
Bob proudly served as an officer in the United States Army before embarking on a remarkable academic career. For 56 years, he was a pillar of the University of Louisville College of Business, where he inspired generations of students as Professor Myers. To his colleagues and friends, he was Bob-a trusted mentor and confidant. To his family, he was Pop-the heart of their home and the keeper of their stories.
He loved teaching, sharing stories, and cheering on UofL football and basketball. Bob will be remembered for his unwavering commitment, his compassion for helping others, and his extraordinary sense of humor. A master storyteller and joke-teller, Bob never met a stranger and touched countless lives with his generosity and kind heart.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Lucy Myers of Petersburg, VA, and his great-grandson, Ethan Cannon of Charlotte, NC.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Magdeline Myers; daughters Donna Kay Wright (Gary) and Jinny Bento DeSousa (John); grandsons Robert Bradley and Chris David; granddaughters Aaron Bradley and Cheri Bradley; and great-grandchildren Travis Bradley, Maximillian David, Jayda Vinson, Rylee Bradley, and Felix David.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bob Myers Honorary Scholarship Fund, give.louisville.edu, or a charity of your choice, continuing Bob's legacy of education and generosity. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Robert, please visit our floral store.
