March 28th, 2025 at the age of 87Robert Donald (Butch) Needham, 87, passed away peacefully Friday March 28, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1937, in Waukegan to Robert and Betty Needham. He was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School and served in the United States Army for three years gaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning home he entered the trades as a plumbers apprentice, and served as the Plumbing Inspector for the City of Waukegan for approximately twenty years.
He and his family owned and operated the Grand Slam Pub and Restaurant, and the Bally Muck Tavern for many years. Butch was proceeded in death by his wife Kathleen whom he retired with to Lake Arrowhead, WI. He is also proceeded in death by his sisters Beverly, Lynn, and brother Peter. He is survived by his two sons Patrick (Kim) and Tim; Grandchildren: Timothy, Jordan, Kendall, Lindsey, Patti, Kate, Casey, Mathew, and several nieces and nephews.
Per Butch's request services were private. The Family will host a "Celebration of Life" this summer. In lieu of flowers, please raise a glass of your finest beverage and donate to your favorite charity. Arrangements under the direction of Peterson and Patch Funeral Home.

Gosh so sad to hear about Mr. Needham. I worked with Butch at the City of Waukegan and that is where I met him. One thing he always wanted me to do was to call him Butch and not Mr Needham. He was a great guy with a great smile. You will be missed, God Bless

Condolences goes out to Good Old #7 . I remember Mr. Needham to be a Football Guy. He Coached the Waukegan Vikings . Berets scrimaged them at Belvedere Park. He had the presence of a "Big Time" Coach walking his
sideline. God Bless !
