Bob was born to Vernon and Margorie (Grathwohl) Nehrt on July 23, 1943 in Centralia, Illinois. Preceding Bob in death, besides parents, was brother, William G. (Bill) Nehrt. On October 1, 1963, Bob married Beverly Kay (Lancaster) Nehrt in Centralia, where she resides today. Other survivors are sons, Rick Nehrt, Brett Nehrt and wife Sheila and Sean Nehrt and wife Lisa; grandsons, Dustin Nehrt and wife Morgan, Josh Nehrt and wife McKenzie and Blake Nehrt and wife Bailey; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Joey ) Sickling and Paige ( Brandon) Niepoetter; five great-grandsons, Grayson Nehrt, Wulfric, Finnic and Warric Nehrt and Owen Sickling; sister-in-law, Lydia Nehrt and many nieces and nephews. After Bob graduated from Belleville Barber College, he went to work for his father in Vernon Nehrt's Barber Shop in southtown Centralia. After working several years for his father, he left to go into the masonry business. He and his sons formed Nehrt Masonry, Inc. He really loved working with his sons and they had many great stories to tell. Bob loved to sit at the kitchen table with friends, sharing hunting and fishing stories and sitting with family, teasing them to no end. Bob was a Christian who shared his faith in Jesus Christ with others. Bob was a talented guy who used his gifts to help others and to serve God. He dearly loved his wife and her homemade meals. On October 1, 2025 they would have been married sixty-two years. Bob loved his family and was proud of each and every one. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Per Bob Nehrt's wishes, cremation will be accorded. There will be a private service and no public visitation. Sutherland-Garnier funeral Home, 235 N.
