Robert Wane Nelson Sr.

Robert Wane Nelson Sr., of Charlestown, RI, passed away on March 4, 2026 at the West Warwick Nursing and Rehab facility. He was the loving husband of the late Elaine Marie Nelson. Born in New London, CT, on October 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Richard Nelson and Grace Murphy.

Bob worked as a painter/tool crib tech at Electric Boat. He also worked as a chef at the 95 House in New London, CT. Bob had a smile for everyone and a terrific sense of humor. When his wife was alive, he would go to dance classes, swimming at the Y and a variety of other activities. Bob loved watching sports whether it be football, baseball or hockey. Bob will be greatly missed by the staff at West View Nursing & Rehab, where he spent the last 4 years of his life.

Bob leaves his beloved son, Robert W. Nelson Jr. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine M. Nelson.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 5:00-7:00pm at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, RI 0289.
