Pastor Bob Nichols, 89, passed away peacefully in his home on June 9, 2025. Pastor Bob was born October 4, 1935 to the late R.V. Nichols and Jewel Melton Nichols in Fort Worth, Texas in Harris Hospital. He attended and graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God High School in Waxahachie, Class of 1953. He married his wife Joy, in August 1954. She was the Joy and love of his life. Pastor Bob served as associate pastor for his father-in-law, J.C. Thompson for several years. He also traveled with the "Voice of Healing" and Dr.Gordon Lindsay who later founded Christ for the Nations. In 1964 Pastor Bob founded Calvary Evangelistic Temple and purchased an old post office building on Berry St in Fort Worth. After outgrowing this location Calvary purchased First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Worth and the church was renamed Calvary Cathedral. He founded a private Christian school, Calvary Christian Academy, while in the downtown location. In March of 2000 the building was destroyed by a tornado which led to the final location of Calvary Cathedral in north Fort Worth. He was pastor for over 55 years. One quote Pastor Bob was known for was, "Don't Quit". He continued to minister in churches and conferences for several more years.

Pastor Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, his parents, and his brother, Ralph Nichols.

Pastor Bob is survived by his daughter, Susan Foster and husband Phillip, daughter Janet Nichols, brother Paul Nichols, granddaughter, Kristen Utley and husband Jason, grandson Robby Foster and wife Lauren, granddaughter Keleigh Foster, grandson Nicholas Foster, great grandsons, Benjamin and Jack Utley, great granddaughters, Kate Utley, Abigail, Elyse, Adley and Esther Foster; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
