Robert Norton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coldren-Crates Funeral Home - Findlay on Nov. 26, 2025.
Robert Charles Norton, 90, of Findlay, passed away on October 22, 2025. A longtime Findlay resident, Bob made his home in Findlay, where he was known as a devoted father, skilled engineer, and loyal friend to many neighbors.
Robert was born on March 8, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to Raymond and Virginia (Paquette) Norton. He graduated from Macomber High School in Toledo and, while raising his family, served for the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a radio technician before beginning a long and successful career with Whirlpool Corporation in Findlay. He retired after 30 years, having played a key role in many of the plant's expansions over the years.
A member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, he served as an usher for many years. He found great joy in building and flying RC airplanes with the local model aircraft club in Findlay. His greatest pride, however, was always his family, whom he loved without reservation.
He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 70 years, Virginia Ann Norton (Kilcorse); his parents; his brother, Dr. Don J. Norton; and his son-in-law, Terry Raver. He is survived by his children Christopher Michael Norton (Catherine), Kelly Norton-Raver (the late Terry), and Lisa Norton-Corbin (Scott); eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, 205 W Sandusky St. Findlay, Ohio from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church to offer Masses in his honor.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Resthaven Maplewoods in Holland, Michigan, for their compassionate care and friendship during Bob's final years. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting coldrencrates.com
