Growing up around the corner from the O'Daniel home, I spent so much time with them. Mr & Mrs. O'Daniel opened up their home to so many of Kirk, Kim & Deis's friends. I have a lifetime of memories from being there and also traveling with them to Gatlinburg and many swim meets. Mr. O'Daniel was a mighty presence and put up with our shenanigans. Thank you for serving our country in the Air Force. May you rest in peace in the Glory of our Father. My heart felt condolences to the family.

So many memories of the O'Daniels as I grew up down the street. Stern but loving was Mr O'Daniel. I can still picture his late night walks around the inner circle, in the snow with his winter coat and hood over his head. He would pass by our house. Brisk were his walks. RIP Sending love to you all.

My deepest sympathy to the O'Daniel family on the loss of your Beloved Dad. Bob & Marilyn were like a second set of parents to me growing up in South Bend. And 40+ years later, it still seems weird to call them by their first names instead of Mr. and Mrs. O'Daniel. I remember Bob doing his deep knee bends at the house on Chevy Chase, and always welcoming & friendly to me, as if I was part of their family. Even after growing up, I always made it a point to go visit them at Christmas, or anytime I was in South Bend, as well as seeing Kimmie, Kirk, and "Deise." I take solace in knowing Bob is with his beautiful "bride" Marilyn up in Heaven. He will be greatly missed by all, but the memories will always be cherished. God Bless! -Lisa

I worked out at the same gym as Bob for many years. He was an inspiration-not only for his example of lifelong fitness, but also because of his humanity. He always had a greeting and a smile for everyone. You never know in this world if the greeting you give someone might be the only human interaction someone receives that day. Because of Bob, I will remember to push myself out of shyness and make human connections with people I pass on the journey of life. I miss you, Bob. Fly high!

My sincere condolences to the O´Daniel family- Bob and Marilyn were such great neighbors! I always wished that they did not move out of town, but I guess that was just a little selfish. And I was hoping to see them more often over the years, but of course life gets in the way.
My peace of mind lies with the thought of the two of them reunited.
