Robert T. Obea

TOWNSEND: Robert T. Obea,, 65 of Swanzey, NH, formerly of Townsend, Mass. died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his home.
Bob was born in Groton, Mass February 12, 1957, a son of the late Thomas Obea and Christine (Macleod) Gatchell and resided most of his life in the Townsend & Pepperell area before moving to Swanzey twelve years ago.
He was a 1975 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for three years.
For over 30 years Bob worked at Courier Printing in Westford before retiring in 2012. Bob was an avid hockey player and remained active in various leagues for over thirty years. He was a diehard fan of the Boston Sports teams and enjoyed playing Keno.
He leaves his longtime companion, Karen L. Chenette; and two grandchildren, Hennasea McMahon and Elijah Gagnon with whom he resided in Swanzey, NH; a stepson Josh Gagnon and companion Step Malcolm and their five children from.Fitzwilliam, NH; a stepdaughter, Desiree Gagnon and Alex Monteiro and child of Brooklyn, CT; his stepbrother, John Gatchell of Boise, Idaho; two step sisters, Jerrilyn Malboeuf of Greenville, NH, Barbara Farnsworth of Leominster; various cousins from Pepperell and Townsend, several cousins from PEI,.Canada also many longtime friends.
Bob's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours Sunday September 18, 2022 from 2 PM - 3:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Man Street (Rte 119) Townsend Center. A time of prayer and reflection will be held at 3:30 PM. In honor of Bob it is requested that everyone please wear clothing from one of the Boston Sports teams.
