Robert E. Oldland

1944 - 2022

Robert E. Oldland, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, April 25, 2022, at the home of his daughter after fighting cancer for 16 years. He was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Connellsville, a son of the Ethel Goswick Oldland of Mt. Pleasant and the late Eugene Oldland. He was a 1961 graduate of Connellsville High School. He was the former owner and operator of Oldland's Gulf Station in Mt. Pleasant for 22 years, retiring in 1991. He also was a tractor trailer truck driver for 15 years, driving for MS Carriers for 10 years and then Heartland Express for five years. He was a former member of the Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Department and he loved to flea market, having a stand at the Laurel Mall for 10 years, and also at the Fayette County Fair Grounds for three years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Sandy Clark and her husband, Len, of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Cheryl Christner and her husband, Clay, of Mt. Pleasant; and granddaughters, Brittany Guariglia and significant other, Benjamin Shaffer and Savannah Clark and significant other, Jeremy Castrodad. He was predeceased by his father. Family and friends will be received from 12 to 4 and 6 until the time of services at 7 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert Bixel officiating in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt.
