Robert "Bob" Anders Olsson, 89, of Cape Coral passed away January 9, 2026, in
Cape Coral, Florida. He was born February 11, 1936, in
Cincinnati, Ohio to Lars and Edith Olsson. Bob graduated from Western Hills High School in 1954. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1959 with an Education Degree and completed his master's in administration in 1960. He married Annette Strothman on June 12, 1959. They had three children, Anne, Lynne and Brent.
Bob began his career as a teacher in New Richmond, Ohio and went on to become a principal and assistant superintendent in the Milford School System. He was a strong community leader and served on many public service boards in the area.
Bob and Annette moved to
Cape Coral, Florida in 1989. Bob was an avid boater and golfer. He joined the Cape Coral Country Club and later joined the Palmetto Pine Country Club and was a member there for 25 years. He was active in the Cape Coral Rotary and also served on the board of Gulf Coast Village.
Bob and Annette had lifelong friends that they loved to travel with in the United States. They loved to go to Colorado, North Carolina and also explored many states including California, Arizona, Texas and Hawaii.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Annette and his children Anne (Bob) Bravard of
Cape Coral, FL, Lynne (Andrew) Phillips of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, Brent (Terrie) Olsson of Tampa, FL, . He is also survived by his sister Barbara (the late Bill) Hopping of
Cape Coral, FL and predeceased by his sister Janet (the late James) Ziegler of Cincinnati Ohio. three grandchildren, Adam Bravard of Tallahassee, FL, Leah Rosti (Matthew) of Melbourne, FL, and Kelly Bravard (Alexis) of Land O'Lakes, FL.
A memorial Service will be celebrated Friday, January 16th at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church (Hunt Chapel) in Cape Coral. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a contribution to Hope Hospice, Faith Presbyterian or The Rotary Foundation of
Cape Coral, FL.
Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
