Robert "Oats" Owens, 95, of Oakdale, Collier Township, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Clair Hospital.
Robert was born on February 28, 1930 in Oakdale, a son of the late Mary Owens.
Oats was a retired carpenter. He had a knack for always fixing things. He was talented with his hands and very knowledgeable when it came to carpentry. Oats even took it upon himself to invent a few new things. He greatly enjoyed golfing and archery shooting. Being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was what he enjoyed the most. He cherished his family and loved being a part of their lives. Oats was fortunate enough to marry the love of his life, the late Grace Owens. The two were very proud of their growing family. Oats never missed any time he could be with his loved ones, those were the moments he loved the most.
Surviving are his children, Robert (Karen) Owens, Loretta "Luann" (Robert) Hasselbeck, and Raymond (Valerie) Owens, grandchildren, Michael, Kirk (Samantha), Camile (Ian), Grayson, Kanyon, Gavin, Reagan and Brennon, great grandchildren, Rylan, Lakyn, Callan, Bryce, Dylan and Chase.
Along with his parents, Oats is preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Allinder Owens (March 26, 2023), son, Tim Owens, and his brothers and sisters.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800). A Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
