Robert Gabor Pallagi

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert "Bob" Gabor Pallagi, 79, of Granville, will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 A.M., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, with Fr. Timothy Hayes as celebrant. Friends and family may call at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery will follow services.
Robert passed away at Otterbein of Gahanna Nursing Home, on Sunday, May 12, 2024. He was born in Newark, Ohio on July 19, 1944, to the late Gabor and Ida (Stolz) Pallagi.
He attended Blessed Sacrament Church/School and graduated from Newark Catholic High School in 1962. Following, Robert attended OSU and received his BA in Business Administration in 1967.
Robert spent the bulk of his career with the Newark School System where he taught math at all levels, retiring after 32 years of service. Following his retirement, Robert worked as a tax advisor with H&R Block, and then volunteered at LCAP Heritage Hall for about eight years.
He was a current parishioner of St. Edward Catholic Church, Granville, where he served on their church council and was the leader of the Saturday Night Gang, a group of senior church members who enjoyed the advantage of a major domo setting up various places for a good meal every Saturday night.
He will be greatly missed by his sister, Nellie Pallagi; many cousins; and good friends.
The family would like to thank Licking Memorial Hematology Department, Otterbein of Gahanna, as well as Hospice for the excellent care given to Robert.
