Obituary
Robert A. Pecora, age 79, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, died March 24, 2023, in Palmetto, Florida. Born September 9, 1943, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Anthony R. and Gertrude (Simco) Pecora. Robert was a 1961 graduate of McKeesport High School and was a member of the McKeesport Tigers Marching Band. He furthered his education at Youngstown State University and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He served in the Navy and then the Naval Reserves from 1967 through 1971. After serving in the Navy, Robert began his career at Mobile Oil before starting his own businesses within the oil and automotive industry. Robert's entrepreneurial spirit continued for the rest of his life.
Robert had a lifelong passion for music and played the bass guitar, trumpet, and trombone. He played in both rock and blues bands, as well as most recently, the Penn Trafford Community Band. Robert enjoyed golfing with his son as well as playing in local golf leagues with friends. He was an avid boater both in McKeesport and Florida. Robert had a passion for buying and selling cars, having many different makes and models over the years. He also held a recreational pilot license and spent many hours testing his flying skills on a flight simulator. Robert spent his time between McKeesport and his winter bungalow in Florida. Bob, as he was known to his friends, was a kind and generous father, grandfather, and friend; his memory will be cherished forever.
Robert is survived by children Nancy (Jon) Henderson and Anthony Pecora; former wife and beloved friend Melanie Pecora; granddaughter Kathryn Henderson; sister Mary Ann DeAngelo; nephew Mark Henry; and niece Michelle Henry. Robert will be laid to rest at a private committal service with military honors.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com. Chris Odasso, Supervisor
