Robert J. Pegher, 74, of Crafton, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 18, 1950, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Robert J. Pegher and Ruth Smith Pegher Eckler. Bob was a 1968 graduate of Langley High School. Following high school, he joined the US Coast Guard where he served for four years. Mr. Pegher had worked for the former Ohio Barge Co. where he was a deckhand. His work had him travel in 30 day shifts, that would take him down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers and back. He has also worked for several area eateries and restaurants. Surviving are a daughter, Greta Pegher (Fred Thompson) of Bethesda, OH; a son, Vincent Pegher (Amber Oaks), of Erie; four grandchildren, Claire Ann Holieb, Kyla Pegher, Shana Pegher and Camille Pegher; a sister, Jacquelyn Shober (Harlan) of Washington; two nieces, Stacey Simpson (Mark) and Dawn Jardini (David); two nephews, Harlan L. Shober (Melissa) and Dean Shober (Jodi); eight grand-nieces, Jordan and Madison Simpson, Maci, Jaylyn and Hope Shober and J.J., Rinnie and Gracie Jardini; three grand-nephews, Ethan (Carolyn), Harlan L. Jr. and Haiden Shober and Evan Simpson; and a great grand-niece Navie Shober. In addition to parents, a sister, Linda Pauline Pegher is deceased. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of Blessing Service, Monday, January 27, 2025, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Interment will be private.
