Robert Nam Phan

Robert Nam Phan, "Rob" and "Nam", 33, of Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, passed away very unexpectedly on July 23, 2024.
Born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Rob graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School and earned his B.S. in Biology from Temple University. Rob worked in Pharma and clinical trials as a Project Manager for Amgen Clinical Trials.
Rob was an extroverted social butterfly, open and warm, who thrived with human connection. He was admired for his generosity and wanted everyone around him to feel comfortable and loved
Rob loved baking, ice cream, and dancing; he always tried to find the rhythm!
He was a formidable man who could be loud, as he really didn't know the strength of his own voice. Rob was a huge fan of Kylie Minogue and Celina Dion; he tried to sing along (although he really could not).
Rob came from a large and loving family, who called him the "The Giant Asian" -- he would lift smaller relatives on his arms while doing squats. A natural athlete, Rob participated in many Chicago's LGBTQ+ sports teams, including volleyball, tennis, kickball, dodgeball, and Aikido.
Son of Minh Phan and Lynne Nguyen, adored brother and best friends of Lillian Thuy Phan.
Rob is survived by his fur daughter Meemers the cat (they were meant for each other.)
