Robert L. Phenicie Jr.

Robert L. Phenicie Jr., 67, of Hershey and Greencastle PA, lost his battle with cancer and went to be with his Lord on Aug 2nd 2024. He was pre-deceased by his parents Mary Louise and Robert Lee Phenicie of Greencastle PA. He is survived by his sisters Barb Caltrider, (Jeff) of PA, Ruby Hunter (Art) of CA, Sonia Wolfe (Daryl) of PA, and Craig Phenicie of CO as well as nieces and nephews and cousins including cousin Cinda Fittry (Ted) and her daughter Sheena Hornbaker of PA, who he considered like a daughter to him.
Robert graduated as an Electrical Engineer from the University of Florida and had a lifelong love of electronics, computers, and Sci-Fi movies. He provided many contributions to the defense of our country by helping develop missile subsystems for the Army, and IC chip / circuit boards for military communications systems at Raytheon and Harris. He later provided project and proposal management for government communications systems at Verizon. He got to travel the world supporting the systems he was involved in.
When he retired from his electronics career, his free spirit nature took hold and he roamed PA, where his car became his home. He landed in Hershey, PA, where he became a valuable member of a ministry that provides health essentials, food, and clothing to the homeless and to families in need. His efforts in warehousing/logistics and material procurement helped expand the team's ability to meet the growing demand for help in the Harrisburg area. He is most fondly remembered for his strength and commitment to helping. Even while the cancer was spreading in him, he worked through the pain to continue contributing, coming in every week to serve all those who depended on the ministry. His dedication was a true inspiration for the entire team. Robert will be missed.
Robert was also a private man. In respect of this, remembrances will remain limited to family members.
