Margaret "Peggy" Dora Phenicie, age 79, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. She was born to the late Floyd and Dora (Sloan) Stephenson on October 15, 1946, in West Leechburg, PA.

Peggy enlisted in the Army right after high school, becoming a nurse. In October of 1966, while in North Carolina at Fort Bragg, Peggy met Thomas Allen Phenicie. The two quickly started dating and married the year after on June 23, 1967. The couple would later have two daughters, Julie and Jennifer, and make their home in Cottage Grove. When she left the service, she got a job at Ramsey Hospital where she worked for many years.
In her free time, Peggy enjoyed ceramics, crochet, sewing, and needlepoint. She was also an avid reader, and had a tremendous love for the color purple. In her younger years, Peggy also enjoyed fishing and camping with her family. As a history buff, Peggy, and her family, enjoyed traveling, especially to historic sites and battlefields such as those from the Civil War.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Julie Phenicie and Jennifer (John) Jaso; grandchildren, Tyler White, John Jaso III, and Grace Jaso; sister, Gloria Stephenson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom; siblings, Charles Stephenson, Betty Lou Stephenson, Carol Stoughton, and Judith Kohler; parents-in-law, Carlos and Laura Phenicie; and niece, Shannon Parks.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you send memorial contributions to Kok Funeral Home to help cover expenses.
The family would like to Thank Allina Hospice Team, Visiting Angels Maplewood and Little Canada offices for their help in caring for Peggy.
