Robert "Bob" Piazza

Born December 16, 1946, it is with broken hearts that we share that Robert "Bob" Piazza passed away after a tough battle with Parkinson's disease and dementia on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, under the care of Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor, FL.

Bob was born in Scranton, PA and upon high school graduation, he joined the US Air Force. Bob served in Okinawa and upon his return, he married his wife, Lucille. He went to work for C&P Telephone in 1969 in Northern Virginia. Bob started his career climbing telephone poles and finally retired after 32 years as a Network Engineer. He earned two associate degrees from Northern Virginia Community College in the 70's and graduated with his bachelor's degree from Nova Southeastern University at age 49.

Bob and his family loved spending their summers camping and boating at Lake Anna, VA. In 1991, he and his family moved to Clearwater, FL where they enjoyed boating, pool time and beautiful Florida sunsets. Upon retirement, Bob split his time between boating and real estate.

Bob is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Wright (Dan) and Carrie DiScioscia (Jorge); his beloved granddaughter, Tessa Mae DiScioscia; step-granddaughter Kirsten Wright; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Lucille Mae Piazza; and his parents, Gus and Shirley Piazza.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Bob will be brought home to Virginia and laid to rest with military honors at Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery in Spotsylvania, Virginia.

Bob's daughters wish to thank the Suncoast Hospice North Pinellas Care Center for their compassion in caring for both Bob and Lucille during their last days.
