Robert A. Pittenger
YORK – Robert A. Pittenger, 66, of York, passed away, Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home in York, PA. He was the husband of Margaret "Kit" (Sheetz) Pittenger whom he married 33 years ago on December 14, 1991.
Robert was born August 22, 1958, in York, PA and was the son of the late Alan and Veree (Zimmerman) Pittenger.
He was employed for 28 years by Modern Landfill as a Wastewater Treatment Operator until he became disabled in 2018. Previously he was employed for 10 years by Electro Plates of York. He enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore O's, and Penn State football. He liked going to open markets and looking for good food, or a good bargain. He enjoyed watching TV at night with his wife, going on short trips around the East Coast and Florida and working on the houses they owned over the years.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his son, Cory Pittenger of York; his daughter, Kimberly Hornberger, and his belove dog Bennie. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Pittenger, and his sisters, Lisa and Loretta.
Robert's funeral service and burial will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
