Robert (Bob) E. Pitzner "Pitz", 73, of Freehold, passed away on September 3, 2022. He was born on February 9, 1949, to Harold and Anne Pitzner in New Brunswick, NJ. Bob was raised in East Brunswick and later moved to Howell before settling in Freehold. Bob graduated from Saint Joseph's High School in Metuchen in 1967. He enlisted in the Navy in August of 1967 and was a Vietnam veteran. Bob worked and retired from the Local 9 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He was a 50-year member.
Bob was hobbyist woodworker, great handyman, Jack of all trade's kind of guy, dedicated to sharing his knowledge and life lessons, enjoyed telling stories about his life. He was an avid reader, hunter, fisherman and loved nature and being in the woods. Bob was also a lifetime member of the NRA and of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Bob loved and enjoyed being with his family, friends, and most of all his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gloria Pitzner; his brother, Bill (Virginia) Pitzner; his sister, Eileen (Steve) Chaladoff; his children, Russell (Carrie) Pitzner, Scott (Vera) Pitzner, Jeffrey (Amanda) Stich, and Karen (Ralph) Vimbor; his grandchildren, Josie, Gwendolyn, Nadia and Ronin Pitzner, Anderson Stich, Brandon, Ella and Tyler Vimbor; He is also survived by a sister-in-law, brother-in-law and his wife and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Anne Pitzner.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Jersey Shore Hospital-- CCU- 3rd floor Unit - Brennan Building or American Cancer Society.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24th, 1-4pm, Military flag folding @ 3pm at Waitt Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 501 Hwy 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. (Casual dress - this is how Bob wants to celebrate his life).
