Robert E. “Bob” Poarch, 85, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025. He was born in Gordon County, Georgia, on January 15, 1940, to the late Reuben and Olgalee Poarch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jean Poarch; Goldie Lee Walraven the mother of his children;; brothers, Junior, Carlton, Floyd, and Jack Poarch, Sr; sisters, Dorothy Ellis, Mary Chapman, Jonnie McFarland, Sue Johns, Shirley Gentry. Bob attended Red Bud School and was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard. Before retirement, he worked as a technician for Clark Lift for 39 years. He was a faithful member of Canaanland Baptist Church, where he was a former choir director.
He is survived by his sons, Steve Poarch, Mike (Diane) Poarch; grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Poarch Rich, Beth (Josh) Lawwell, Jeremy (Audrey) Poarch; great-grandchildren, Ali Hullett, Hayden Poarch, Lucas Poarch, Jessica Lawwell, Johnathan Lawwell; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home and from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Canaanland Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Canaanland Baptist Church with Bro. Isaac Johns and Bro. Adam Thomas is officiating. Burial will follow in Crane Eater Cemetery, with Bro. Avery Johns officiating. Pallbearers serving are Bradley Scott, Brent Scott, Mike Woodward, Jeremy Poarch, Josh Lawwell, and Johnathan Lawwell.
