Robert Potere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Potere-Modetz Funeral Home - Rochester on Jan. 9, 2026.
Robert (Bob) Ferrell Potere, age 89, of Rochester, Michigan, West Palm Beach, Florida, and Central Lake, Michigan, passed away January 6, 2026.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Sharon (Sukie) Lee Potere and his great-grandson, Wyatt Ferrell Taylor; he is survived by daughters Kimberlee (Kevin) Falahee, Monica (Stephen, deceased) Jones, and Jennifer (Arnold II) Taylor; his grandchildren Andrew (Jessica) Falahee, Joshua Pruett, Brittany (F. Albert IV) Parent, Zachary (Shannon) Taylor, and Dean (Emma Willett) Taylor; four great-grandchildren; and his cherished dog, Buddy.
Bob attended the University of Michigan and later the University of Detroit, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. He practiced law with the Bebout Potere Cox firm, eventually becoming a partner, and remained active in the profession until his retirement in 1998. A respected and well-known figure in the Rochester community, Robert also served as a prosecuting attorney.
Deeply committed to service, Bob served on the boards of Leader Dogs for the Blind, Crittenton Hospital, and National Bank of Rochester/First of America Bank. He was a longtime and active member of both the Rochester Elks and Rochester Rotary Clubs, holding numerous leadership roles. He was honored as Exalted Ruler of the Rochester Elks Lodge from 1968–1969 and served as President of the Rochester Rotary Club from 1971–1972, where he had perfect attendance for over 40 years and acted as Treasurer for many of those years.
Bob eagerly awaited his reunion with Sharon, and his family finds comfort knowing the two are now together again-dancing in eternity.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind at www.leaderdog.org.
