Robert H "Butch" Powers

Cumberland, MD- Robert "Butch" H. Powers, 82, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at his home.
Born September 6, 1942 in Cumberland, MD to the late Howard Powers and Betty (Hartman) Powers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Self) Powers; a daughter: Sherry Trail; a brother: Rusty Charles Powers; and a sister: Barbara Suess.
Butch was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post 297 Baltimore, MD. He was a factory worker for several companies around the Cumberland area and also worked at the Cumberland Motel with his good friend, Barbara Buckley. Butch was also a house painter in the area for many years and attended Cumberland Community Church.
Butch is survived by his sons: Robert and Quientin Powers; his sister: Diane Sarver; his brothers: Michael Powers and wife Winona; and Paul David Powers; as well as his close friend: Dottie Tippens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ron Yost officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
