Robert Lee Pruitt, a devoted family man and hardworking farmer, passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 93, peacefully in his home in Salisbury, Maryland. Born on December 5, 1931, in Salisbury, Bob spent his life dedicated to the poultry industry. He was known for his honest and fair nature, believing that a handshake was a bond, and he exemplified strength in both character and work ethic.

Beyond his farming endeavors, Bob had a passion for fishing and enjoyed hunting, often sharing these beloved activities with his family. He believed that God is everywhere. Bob instilled strong values in his children and grandchildren. He is remembered as a kind and good father, always ready to lend a helping hand and never afraid of hard work.

Bob is survived by his two loving sons, William Pruitt (Dixie) and Donald Pruitt (Robin), daughter-in-law Pat Pruitt, seven grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his sister, Charlene Kemp, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bulah Pruitt; his wife, Bertha Pruitt; two sons, Robert Lee Pruitt, Jr. and Ronald Dale Pruitt; three brothers, Howard, Clonie, and Ralph; and 2 sisters, Mae and Opel.

Funeral services will be held at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, beginning at 10 am with a visitation beginning at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice.
