Otis Lee Pruitt, Sr.

Otis Lee Pruitt, Sr., 80 of Birmingham, passed on October 7, 2025. He was born to Mary Beavers and Arthur Pruitt on October 10, 1944. He was married to Patricia Williams and with this union was born Shon Jackson, Marlon Pruitt (AlFreda) and Otis Pruitt, Jr. Otis was also the father of AJ Pruitt, Janay Smith, Lisa Smith and Devin Pruitt. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Elma Lucille Cooper of Rhode Island and Ella L. Bridges of Birmingham, Alabama. He is preceded in death by 9 siblings.

Otis worked as a Conductor for the railroad and was a beloved employee of Stephen Graphics for over 30 years. He has been a long-time member of Moody Temple CME Church for 80 years. He has served as a Trustee, Deacon and Usher. He also was a member of the choir where he enjoyed singing his favorite song, “I Am Redeemed”. Otis was a very kind, caring and generous person. He was always willing to help with any task he was asked to do.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Moody Temple CME Church (228 61st Street, Fairfield, AL 35064) at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dr. Rodney Dillard, Sr., officiating.
